A Cause Close to Home: RF-Tech’s Ongoing Support for the BACH Project PH

February not only marks Love Month but it’s also a month dedicated to Man’s Best Friend. To name a few:

🐾 Dog Training Education Month
🐾 Pet Dental Health Month
🐾 Responsible Pet Owners Month

And at RF-Tech, dogs and all kinds of furry friends are close to our hearts. Here’s an advocacy we’ve been wanting to share for a while now.

RF-Tech began supporting the BACH Project PH  (Bacolod Animal Chance & Hope) in 2024. The goal was to support a cause with direct, visible impact. That search led to BACH Project PH, a registered nonprofit animal welfare organization based in Bacolod City, Philippines, dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming stray, abandoned, and abused dogs and cats across Negros Island.

The BACH Project operates as an all-volunteer organization. Its work centers on lifesaving rescue, shelter support, and adoption, paired with education on responsible pet ownership and humane animal care. Volunteers provide daily care for rescued animals and coordinate with local communities to improve long-term welfare outcomes. The organization also works closely with the Bacolod City Veterinary Office and other animal welfare advocates on spay and neuter programs, vaccination initiatives, and adoption events.

The connection between RF-Tech and BACH became personal early on. Founder and CEO Rey An Caduhay and COO Lloyd Calugcugan are longtime animal advocates who wanted to find a meaningful way to give back and “pay it forward”. What started as a shared value quickly grew into a commitment embraced by the entire team.

That commitment became real during RF-Tech’s first outreach with the BACH Project. During the visit, COO Lloyd Calugcugan met Kirby, a rescued dog still waiting in a cage. Lloyd’s wife, Kit, immediately felt a connection and said, “We can’t leave him here.” Kirby came home with them that day, becoming the first rescue adopted during what began as a simple effort to give back.

Love at First Bark:

Meet Kirby, too adorable to ignore, COO Lloyd Calugcugan and his wife said “YES” to becoming his official fur-parents at their team’s very first BACH Project PH outreach event.

Each year since the partnership began, the RF-Tech team has organized a donation drive to support BACH’s ongoing needs. Contributions fund food, medical treatment, and shelter operations for rescued animals. These resources support both immediate care and long-term recovery, helping animals transition from rescue to rehabilitation and, eventually, adoption.

BACH’s work extends beyond direct rescue. Community groups and universities across Negros have participated in donation drives and volunteer efforts in support of the organization. This broader involvement reflects BACH’s role in public education and community engagement around animal welfare in the region. Its shelter and volunteer operations are based in Purok Balabag, Sitio Cubay, Barangay Granada, Bacolod City.

The annual donation drive reflects how RF-Tech approaches community involvement. The focus remains on consistency, responsibility, and measurable outcomes rather than one-time campaigns. Supporting BACH aligns with the company’s broader view of long-term impact and accountability.

The BACH Project remains a core part of RF-Tech’s community initiatives. The team encourages others to support the organization through donations, sharing its work, or raising awareness within their own networks. Broader participation increases capacity and helps more animals receive care.

Giving back is part of how RF-Tech defines its role beyond the work it delivers.
