Leadership is not limited to job titles or management positions. It can be seen in how someone communicates, handles responsibility, supports a teammate, and responds when work becomes challenging.
On August 2, 2026, the RF-Tech management team gathered at Bacolod Business Inn for a dedicated leadership training session facilitated by Karen Monje, RPm, LPT, CLSSYB and Gay Marie Tiu, RN, MAN, FPCHA on the theme of Leadership Development for the Management Team. The event gave the team an opportunity to step away from their usual routines, learn together, and strengthen the skills that help people lead with greater confidence and purpose.

Leadership Is Something People Practise

As companies scale, technical expertise gets work done but leadership skills make performance sustainable.
Technical skills allow your team to solve complex problems and serve clients. Leadership skills enable them to communicate clearly, make sound decisions under pressure, and elevate the people around them. In a modern workplace spanning different roles, schedules, and hybrid locations, these human skills are non-negotiable.
Exceptional leadership isn’t an innate trait but built through structured experience, self-reflection, and continuous learning. Training provides team members with dedicated space to evaluate their impact, refine their communication, and sharpen their interpersonal skills.
Over time, these small, intentional shifts transform daily operations. Strong leadership shows up through daily habits:
- Active listening: Seeking to understand before reacting.
- Clarity: Setting unambiguous expectations from day one.
- Accountability: Owning mistakes and following through on commitments.
- Continuous feedback: Giving actionable input and recognizing contributions.
- Adaptability: Remaining open to better ways of working and asking for help when needed.
It’s also important to note that leadership isn’t tied to a job title but by anyone who chooses to contribute positively and lift up their colleagues is practicing leadership.
Stronger Leaders Support Better Work
Leadership development is not just about preparing someone for a management role. It is about helping people feel more confident, communicate more clearly, and handle the everyday challenges that keep work moving.
When employees know how to lead themselves and support others, the benefits can be felt across the organisation:
- 70% of the variation in employee engagement is linked to managers. Stronger managers can have a direct impact on how connected and motivated people feel at work.
- Teams with highly engaged employees can be up to 21% more profitable than teams with low engagement.
- Employees who receive regular feedback are nearly four times more likely to be engaged than those who do not.
- Companies with effective leadership development programmes are more likely to have stronger business results and better employee retention.

These numbers reflect what many people experience in their day-to-day work. Clear expectations make it easier to know what needs to be done. Constructive feedback helps people improve before small issues become bigger ones. Supportive leaders make it more comfortable for employees to ask questions, share ideas, and take ownership when something does not go to plan.
That difference also reaches clients.
Clients depend on teams that are responsive, organised, dependable, and able to solve problems without unnecessary delays. When people across the company have the confidence and skills to communicate well, make decisions, and support one another, clients receive a more consistent experience.
Developing strong leaders throughout the organisation is therefore not just an investment in employees. It is an investment in how the business works, how teams collaborate, and how reliably clients are supported.
Continuing to Grow at RF-Tech
The RF-Tech Leadership Training was one step in the team’s ongoing development.
Training may happen on a particular day, but leadership continues to develop through everyday choices. It grows each time someone communicates honestly, supports a colleague, takes initiative, or learns from a difficult experience.
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the leadership training. May the lessons, conversations, and shared experiences from the event continue to shape how the team works, collaborates, and leads.
